dr. Vyacheslav Misko
Biography
Vyacheslav Misko is a post-doctoral scientist working in the µFlow Cell at the VUB. After receiving his PhD in physics, he worked at the University of Antwerp, Research Centre Jülich (Germany), the University of Michigan (US) and the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN) in Japan, where he obtained a broad expertise in several research fields including vortex matter, dynamics of complex systems, single-file diffusion, ratcheting and separation techniques, Wigner crystals, quasicrystals and colloids. After his work in Japan, Dr. Misko obtained a EU MC Fellowship and a prestigious “Odysseus” Project of the Flemish Government. His research in the µFlow Cell at the VUB includes new vortex-aided separation methods, active soft matter in micro- and acoustofluidics, sperm separation based on motility for medical assisted reproduction methods, inertial separation, development of Lab-on-a-Disc platform for detection and analysis of parasite eggs, and other projects.
